Walbot’s Talk Money Week videos
Walbot flies through Silverton to help children think before they choose. Watch one together, then ask your child what they would pick, and why.
Captions are built into every video. Videos unlock at midnight (UK time). Watch with a grown-up.
Five games for five days
No printer, pocket money or shopping trip needed. Each game uses the same short routine, so it becomes a habit.
MONDAYIs it always a need?
Is a coat a need or a want? Change one fact: it’s raining, or you already have one. Does the answer change?
TUESDAYThree tokens, two choices
Draw three circles. A sticker costs one, a kite costs three. Try both. What’s left?
WEDNESDAYA tap still costs
Draw a pretend Buy button with a price. Practise: “This says £2. Can you look with me?”
THURSDAYA choice for everyone
Plan a free afternoon for two people who like different things. How can both join in?
FRIDAYA new shop, the same pause
Make up a new pretend shop. Let your child explain before you give any reminder.
Take one breath, then ask,
“Do I need it, or do I want it?”
“If I get it now, what can’t I get later?”
Then choose.
Can’t tap, or don’t want to? A breath works too. A want is never a wrong answer. The Talk Money Week pack

Seven promises grown-ups keep, so children can stop and think.
- Ready when you are. We give children time to think before anyone answers.
- Show me first. We show how, in small steps, before a child has a go.
- Same words, every street. We use the same words every time: at school, at the hub, and at home if it helps.
- Every answer counts. Pointing, signing, drawing, a symbol card, an AAC device or saying it. Passing counts too.
- Help still counts. We help without lowering what a child is aiming for.
- Help steps back, not away. As a child does more on their own, we step back, and we stay close.
- A want is never a wrong answer. We never ask what a family has or can afford.
Three things we never do
- Tap a child’s wrist for them.
- Use Tap, Tap, Pause as a warning, a calm-down order or a punishment.
- Ask a child or a family about money at home.
A promise, not a checklist. Nobody is tested on these.

Talk Money Week runs from 2 to 6 November 2026. Try a one-minute money game each day with Pocket Money Adventures. Walbot has a new video every night. An adult can model: Tap, Tap, Pause. Take one breath, then ask, “Do I need it, or do I want it?” and “If I get it now, what can’t I get later?” Then choose. Pointing, drawing, signing and usual communication support all count. A want is never a wrong answer. Nobody needs to discuss their family’s money. Everything is free at play.pocketmoneyadventures.co.uk
